25 dollars can change the world. It’s simple thanks to Kiva.
What is KIVA?
Kiva is an international micro-financing organization that lets you lend to a specific entrepreneur in the developing world. By choosing a business on Kiva.org, you can “sponsor a business” and help the world’s working poor make great strides towards economic independence. The loans enable people to help themselves by starting a new business or improving their existing one.
How does it work?
You can start lending from $25 using Paypal. During the loan (usually 6-12 months), you can receive email journal updates from the business you’ve sponsored. When the loan is repaid, you get your money back and you can withdraw it or lend it out again.
My Experience
I currently have 4 loans. One completely repaid, one at 89%, one at 25% and the last just started. It really works, and it’s a nice, simple and effective way to help someone who would like to change his life.
